39th Legislative District represents parts of southern Fayette and northern Jessamine Counties
November 14, 2023: Frankfort, KY – Just days after Governor Andy Beshear’s decisive re-election victory, Democrat Ryan Stanford from Nicholasville filed paperwork with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s office in a bid for the 39th Legislative District.
“I’m not a guy in a suit. I understand the struggles of the people of the 39th because I face those same struggles every day,” Stanford said.
The 33-year-old Stanford has two adorable daughters whom he loves dearly. He earns a living by working as a commercial exterminator, using his skills to help businesses eliminate unwanted pests and insects.
Stanford went on to say, “As a father, I grapple with the same questions most parents do. Will our children inherit a state that fights for them? It’s gotten to the point where I knew I couldn’t expect the leadership my family needs from our current state rep, so I decided to run.”
A healthier economy and a stronger community are two areas Stanford expects to address in his campaign.
“We’ve seen opportunities slip through our fingers, not for lack of potential, but from a lack of courageous leadership,” Stanford added.
As of now, Stanford is the only Democrat to file for the race to face two-term incumbent Matt Locket in the November 2024 General Election.
